Wrestlemania, the biggest wrestling even of the year was in jeopardy because the current coronavirus situation. The question was, will it happen? Most sports have now ceased because of the current situation, but WWE has decided to keep running.
It seems the Wrestlemania is still on, but there are going to some understandable changes. Here are the key changes to Wrestlemania:
- The event will no longer be held in Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. Instead, it will be in held in an empty WWE Performance in Orlando
- Roman Reigns, originally scheduled to challenge Goldberg for the WWE Championship will no longer compete due to health concerns
- Several other wrestlers are expected not to attend or compete at the event over similar reasons.
- The event will now be a two-night even instead of the tradition one night
- Some matches are expect to change at the last minute
- The event will be a taped show instead of being traditionally live
Understandably so, this will affect changes for plans with wrestlers and storylines going forward.
How this affects betting: as it’s now going to be a taped show, bets will no longer be available for Wrestlemania.
Given these changes, the question is whether Wrestlemania should have still be on, or should they have cancelled it entirely, rescheduled it for a later or move their plans to another big event like Summerslam?
