Although we are primarily focused on matched betting, we should still briefly touch on sports trading as they are closely related. Sports trading does carry slightly more risk than matched betting, but it does add a nice additional income stream to your existing matched betting activities, or even as a replacement income stream if several of your bookmaker accounts have become gubbed.
Here is why you should consider sports trading:
- Sports trading has much higher long-term profitability
- You do not have to rely on offers/promotions, bonuses or free bets
- You can do sports trading any day, every day
- You will never be gubbed for sports trading
- You can start with a small bankroll and with very little risk
You don’t need to spend a lot of time learning before you can start to profit from sports trading. The most basic sports trading strategies are actually very quick and easy to learn (it is possible to see profits on day 1!) and are best explained across a set of strategy tutorial videos that you can view by clicking ‘Sports Trading Tutorials’ below. We recommend paying particular attention to the ‘Laying The Draw’ and ‘Trading Under 2.5 Goals’ videos first, as they are the easiest strategies to get started with!
You will need to have a betting exchange account to do your trades.

We personally use and prefer Smarkets to do our sports trades, as they charge an industry low 2% commission (or 0% commission for Oddsmonkey Premium members!) on winning trades. If you don’t already have a Smarkets account, you can sign up by clicking the button below:
